Monitoring and Evaluation are Central
The adaptive, timely, and quality management of programme implementation and achievement of target results. National programmes and leading development agencies expect rigorous monitoring of key project activities, on-time reporting of results, and continuous learning through analysis and presentation of findings. Infonex Malawi excels in all three levels of M&E execution as amply demonstrated in its 5-year leadership (2015-2021) of MERIT monitoring, evaluation and learning. Our success is extensive:
Plans, Budgets and Coordination:
- Agency-approved plans for results monitoring that include strategy and approaches for M&E and detailed descriptions of performance indicators with their data collection methodologies
- Contractor-approved plans and budgets for numerous M&E activities conducted nationwide
- Sustained coordination with ministry counterparts for planned M&E activities and secondment of ministry staff for assessor training and deployment
Tools and Activities:
- Development and deployment of varied tools – including digital applications installed on hundreds of tablets – for effective data collection
- Frequent follow-up of activities implementation with participant interviews (telephone and in-person) to gauge satisfaction, solicit feedback, and advise on implementation adjustments to enhance activity effectiveness
Reports and Studies:
- Agency-approved reports of national assessments and major studies of priority topics identified by Infonex Malawi for follow-up, e.g. PEA coaching support
- Active use of GIS for visual presentation of select results disaggregated by district and zone
Senior project management looks to M&E to measure and report progress and results achievement to the client. Infonex Malawi was a core member of the senior management team for the MERIT Activity and provided timely, accurate reports and lessons learned to project leadership throughout that project.
